As a personal business coach, too often, I see people get stuck on something in their past.  It usually has to do with people, situations or things.  More specifically, in business performance coaching, it is about changing your thinking and how you relate to the people, situations and things that are challenging. You have a choice.  Grow bigger than your challenges or your challenges will remain bigger than you.  When they do remain bigger than you, you will remain stuck.  That doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy some small business success.  You can.  But, you will be limited. 

Therefore, the first step in success planning is not about the business. It is about you.  As a personal business coach I can assure you that coaching success is about getting clear of your past.  It is understanding that things have to be different in order for progress to take place. 

The key for self-employed entrepreneurs and solo professionals is to understand that yes, things have to be different in order to grow.  But here’s what they must be on the look out for.  Different isn’t necessarily better.  But better is always different.  Good success planning understands and embraces this.
